I SPOKE TOO SOON... IT'S TAKING FOREVER TO UPLOAD A 2-MINUTE VIDEO!
I noticed Gabriel was in a 'bad mood' yesterday. This is a very subtle change, a very subtle process that you really have to be in-tune with, otherwise you could miss it. I mean, your cat may be in the house as usual but then you realize at some point that he's not sticking with the same routine as usual. He didn't come in 'the small room' to see me in the morning like he always does, he didn't even make an appearance in the bedroom as I was getting dressed, up and about. He's always there. This was very strange - and unusual.
Later, as he finally got on my bed to snooze, he layed his head against Princess's back. I looked at his face, and he truly did look like he had lost his best friend or something. I took video. And then she started grooming and licking him.
As he shifted about, I noticed he also did something for the first time ever - he turned his back on me while we were both laying on the bed. He had never done that before, ever. So then, I began to wonder what I might have done that somehow, signaled to him to be some sort of... hostile act.. a faux-pas.. :)) (I never did figure it out.)
So I spent time stroking him and 'talking to him'. I thought maybe, those two fought again while I was sleeping. Princess can be very vicious sometimes, I have seen her jump right on him - well, we've got some videos to prove it.. So who knows what transpired... You can see it all over his face though, on the first video.
And then, luckily, after I did some talking and stroking, he came to... Back to his old self. I took another couple of quick videos - you can see the difference so clearly. The cat has a very expressive face.
... Maybe, he had a bad dream and he couldn't quite distinguish it from reality...
:)
