Sometimes, mom does certain things I just don't understand. Like a while ago, she all of a sudden took up and actually occupied OUR ROOM!.. Yep, she did.
At first, we couldn't believe it. Gabriel and I saw her go in there, fix the 'beddie bye' in there, and plop down right on it. If that wasn't enough, she actually closed the DOOR!
Gabriel tried to run some interference for me, seeing the shock in my face: "Uhhm... mom? Can you please open the door? Ah thank there's been some mees-understeandin' hear...[meow and scratch, scratch on the door]. "
She opened the door and looked at us, as I'm hesitantly stepping away, not knowing what to expect: "Well, I'm sorry but I need to sleep in THIS room tonight. Is that okay with YOU? "
The door closed again. "Ah dawn't know Pipi... She won't come out .. she won't open up...Maybe thangs have changed.."
"Uhmm, mom? Can you please open up again? [scratch, scratch on the door]."
Well, we pretty much got the picture; dear MOM ignored us the whole night through, kept us out of our own room, can you believe it.
[They really HAVE claimed the second bedroom as their own... They go in there occassionally if they need a break, some peace and quiet, like the time when Gabriel felt he was being 'kicked' out of my bedroom when I was trying to make the bed. This was their baby room, where I brought them into as young babies / kittens.. And they just couldn't accept at first seeing me 'take it' for the night. When I close my regular bedroom's door every night, there is never a fuss, let alone any scratching on the door; they have long ago accepted that this is my own space and this is the nightly routine. ]
